About Organisation
Green Box Arts is an arts incubator based in Green Mountain Falls, Colorado, at the foot of Pikes Peak in the Colorado Front Range. Its Artist in Residency Program provides artists with dedicated time, space and resources to focus on creative development and the creation of new work. The programme welcomes artists across disciplines and career stages, including emerging, mid-career and established practitioners. Alongside supporting individual artistic practice, Green Box Arts encourages residents to connect with the surrounding community through activities such as performances, masterclasses and open studios.
About the Grant
The Green Box Artist in Residency Program provides selected artists with a focused period for developing and creating new creative work. Each residency typically lasts one month and includes a stipend starting at $9,000, together with private accommodation at The Shed, a dedicated and fully equipped artist residence. Artists receive time, space and resources to concentrate on their practice. An important part of the programme is community engagement, with applicants expected to propose activities that create meaningful interaction between their work and the Green Mountain Falls community.
Who can Apply?
The residency welcomes artists from all disciplines and at all career stages. Emerging, mid-career and established artists, including artists of national and international stature, are encouraged to apply. There is no restriction to a particular creative discipline. Applicants should have clear artistic goals and a proposed project, new body of work, creative experiment or concept that would benefit from a dedicated residency period. Applicants are also expected to propose meaningful community engagement activities such as masterclasses, performances or open studios.
How to Apply?
Applicants should present their creative practice, proposed project and objectives for the residency. The application should explain why a one-month period at Green Box Arts would benefit their artistic development and outline proposed community engagement activities. Selected artists work collaboratively with the residency team to determine appropriate deliverables. There is no application fee.
