About Organisation
The Weeden Foundation is a private grantmaking foundation supporting initiatives focused primarily on environmental conservation and protection. Its funding interests emphasize efforts that safeguard biodiversity, protect important ecosystems and address environmental challenges through effective nonprofit action. The Foundation works with eligible organisations in the United States and internationally, providing financial assistance for projects aligned with its programme priorities. Through the Weeden Foundation Grants 2026, it supports organisations capable of delivering meaningful and practical conservation outcomes. The Foundation follows a structured grantmaking process, with its Board of Directors meeting three times annually to review eligible proposals and determine funding awards.
About the Grant
The Weeden Foundation Grants 2026 provide financial support to eligible nonprofit organisations pursuing projects aligned with the Foundation’s funding priorities. Individual awards are generally between $10,000 and $30,000, and multi-year grants are not offered. The Foundation has specific areas it generally does not support, including museums, capital construction, animal rights, wildlife rehabilitation, government-based projects, faith-based organisations, universities, student fellowships and basic scientific research. Applicants should therefore carefully assess alignment before submitting. The Fall 2026 grant cycle begins on June 15, 2026, with successful proposals considered during the Foundation’s late-October Board meeting.
Who can Apply?
The Weeden Foundation Grants 2026 are available to organisations holding 501(c)(3) nonprofit status in the United States or the international equivalent for organisations based outside the country. New applicants must first submit a Letter of Inquiry and can submit a full proposal only if invited by the Foundation. Returning grantees may complete the designated returning grantee application. Applicants should propose work aligned with the Foundation’s programme interests and provide appropriate organisational, financial and project documentation. Government-based projects, faith-based organisations, universities and several other specified activities are generally outside the Foundation’s funding interests. Multi-year funding requests are not supported.
How to Apply?
Applications are completed through the Foundation’s online grantmaking system. New applicants must first submit a Letter of Inquiry by August 7, 2026. Selected organisations will then be invited to submit a full proposal. Returning grantees and invited new applicants must submit their applications by September 4, 2026. Required materials include financial statements, project and organisational budgets, board information, nonprofit certification, funding sources and key personnel qualifications.
Application Deadline
The application deadline is Friday, September 4, 2026.
