Call for Innovative Solutions to address unmet needs Emerging threats in TB
About Organisation
India Health Fund (IHF), officially known as Confluence for Health Action and Transformation Foundation, is a Section 8 non-profit organization established in 2017. It was initiated with the backing of Tata Trusts and in collaboration with The Global Fund. IHF is dedicated to accelerating India’s response to infectious diseases such as tuberculosis (TB) and others by supporting innovative, scalable solutions. The foundation acts as a catalyst, bridging critical gaps in funding, mentorship, and market access for small and mid-sized innovators working in healthcare. Its mission is to identify and support solutions that enhance disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, especially in underserved communities. IHF works through partnerships and collaborative ecosystems to promote impactful public health innovations. By facilitating access to strategic resources, the foundation aims to drive long-term transformation in the healthcare system. Currently, IHF has joined hands with ACT Grants, IPE Global, and IKP Knowledge Park to identify and fund pioneering ideas addressing TB care, particularly those integrating climate resilience and primary healthcare in India. IHF emphasizes inclusivity and sustainability, with a vision of creating accessible and equitable healthcare models that can address pressing public health challenges in India’s diverse and resource-constrained settings.
About the Grant
India Health Fund, in collaboration with ACT Grants, IPE Global, and IKP Knowledge Park, is offering a grant to support innovative healthcare solutions with a special focus on tuberculosis (TB) and primary healthcare in underserved communities. This grant seeks to identify transformative innovations that address persistent barriers in TB screening, diagnosis, and treatment, particularly in the context of increasing climate-related health challenges. Despite ongoing efforts, India continues to carry the highest TB burden globally, making timely intervention and innovation critical. The grant invites solutions that are cost-effective, scalable, and climate-resilient. It supports technologies such as non-sputum-based diagnostics (blood, breath, or urine tests), AI-enabled diagnostic imaging tools, decentralized testing devices, and point-of-care technologies adapted for remote and low-resource settings. Additionally, digital health solutions that enable treatment adherence, patient tracking, data automation, and integrated care delivery will be prioritized. The call also encourages development of diagnostics that address the full TB spectrum—including latent and subclinical TB—particularly among asymptomatic patients. This grant aims to empower innovators who can bridge the gap between cutting-edge technology and accessible healthcare to combat TB more effectively while strengthening overall healthcare infrastructure against climate and resource challenges.
Who can Apply?
This grant opportunity is open to organizations and individuals developing innovative healthcare solutions for TB and primary care in India. Eligible applicants include early- to mid-stage enterprises, non-profits, research institutions, and start-ups with a demonstrable focus on healthcare innovations. Applicants must be working on scalable, impactful, and implementable solutions that align with the objectives of India Health Fund. Strong preference will be given to entities whose solutions are relevant for underserved and resource-limited settings. The innovations should demonstrate potential to address diagnostic gaps, especially in TB detection, care integration, and climate resilience. Technologies can include non-sputum diagnostics, AI-assisted tools, or point-of-care solutions. Applicants should also demonstrate a working prototype or proof of concept and ideally have preliminary data showing feasibility or effectiveness. Digital health platforms that streamline patient engagement, treatment tracking, and health system integration are also encouraged. Collaborative proposals involving cross-sectoral expertise (e.g., public health, technology, social science) are welcome. While the call is India-focused, applicants must demonstrate readiness to pilot or scale their solutions in the Indian healthcare ecosystem. Entities should have a commitment to social impact, and the ability to execute the project effectively with or without additional partner support.
How to Apply?
Applicants are required to prepare a comprehensive proposal detailing their innovation, its potential impact, scalability, and feasibility within the Indian healthcare context. The application process includes submitting documentation such as proof of concept, pilot data, and implementation plans. Proposals must clearly align with the grant’s focus on TB, climate resilience, and primary healthcare. Selected innovations will undergo further evaluation and support rounds led by India Health Fund and its partners.
Application Deadline
The application process is currently open, and interested applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Only complete proposals submitted within the deadline will be considered for evaluation.
