About Organisation

The Ministry of Culture, Government of India works to preserve, promote and strengthen India’s diverse cultural heritage, arts and creative traditions. Through various schemes and institutions, the Ministry supports cultural organisations, artists, researchers and initiatives contributing to the development and promotion of Indian culture. Its activities cover performing arts, cultural heritage, literature, research, exhibitions, festivals and other creative fields. The Cultural Function and Production Grant Scheme is one of its funding initiatives designed to assist eligible organisations in implementing cultural programmes, productions and research activities while encouraging wider engagement with India’s artistic traditions, cultural knowledge and creative practices.

About the Grant

The Cultural Function and Production Grant Scheme provides financial assistance for projects promoting and preserving Indian culture, arts and creative practices. Funding can support conferences, seminars, workshops, symposia, festivals, exhibitions and productions involving dance, drama, theatre and music. Small research projects, surveys, pilot initiatives and publications relating to important cultural subjects may also receive assistance. Normally, funding covers up to 75% of eligible project expenditure, subject to the prescribed maximum grant. The programme aims to strengthen cultural organisations and enable meaningful projects contributing to cultural heritage, artistic expression, research, knowledge sharing and the development of India’s creative ecosystem.


Who can Apply?

Applicants must complete the prescribed application form and submit it with the required organisational constitution, governing body details, annual report, detailed project report, budget, financial statements, balance sheet, indemnity bond and bank information. Applications should be submitted to the Director, North Central Zone Cultural Centre (NCZCC), Prayagraj. Applications should also carry the required recommendation from an eligible government or recognised culture-related institution as specified under the scheme.

How to Apply?

Applicants should submit a short CV (max. 1 page) and a story/research pitch (up to 300 words). Up to two pitches may be submitted, with one being selected for development.
