About the Grant
The UNDP Uzbekistan Small Grants Programme for Civil Society Organizations provides funding for nonprofit organizations working to expand sustainable economic opportunities for vulnerable women. The programme addresses economic vulnerability as a factor that can increase women’s exposure to social and gender-based inequalities. Supported projects may focus on labour rights, vocational and technical skills, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, digital skills, employment, market access, women-led businesses, innovation and community-based economic initiatives. Priority is given to projects supporting women in rural and remote areas, women with disabilities, low-income women, women in vulnerable situations and survivors of gender-based violence. The programme forms part of the EU-funded CHANGE project.
Who can Apply?
The grant is open to non-governmental, nonprofit organizations legally registered in Uzbekistan. Applicants must have at least five years of experience implementing women’s economic empowerment initiatives, work in areas relevant to the programme objectives and possess sufficient institutional and operational capacity to implement the proposed project. Priority is given to initiatives supporting women living in rural and remote areas, women with disabilities, women from low-income households, women in vulnerable situations and survivors of gender-based violence. Commercial organizations, political parties, trade unions, religious organizations, consumer cooperatives, homeowners’ associations and citizens’ self-government bodies are not eligible.
How to Apply?
Review the official contest concept and guidelines before preparing the application. Eligible organizations should prepare a project proposal and administrative form addressing the programme’s objectives. The project proposal must be prepared in Uzbek or English and must not contain information identifying the applicant organization. Complete applications should be submitted electronically to the designated UNDP project team before the deadline.
