About Organisation

The Safe Abortion Action Fund (SAAF) supports organizations committed to improving access to safe abortion services worldwide, especially in low- and middle-income countries. With a mission centered around reproductive rights, SAAF provides flexible, multi-year grants for advocacy, service provision, public awareness campaigns, and capacity building within organizations dedicated to reproductive health and abortion rights. Recognizing the challenges posed by restrictive environments, SAAF offers support for initiatives that empower communities, raise awareness, and strengthen local organizations. In sensitive contexts, SAAF ensures anonymity for funded organizations to support safe and impactful advocacy. Through comprehensive funding support, SAAF helps create sustainable, community-driven advancements in abortion rights, body autonomy, and reproductive justice globally.

About the Grant

SAAF is currently offering three-year grants of up to $120,000 USD to organizations based in eligible low- and middle-income countries. These flexible grants support various activities, from direct abortion services to advocacy, awareness, behavior change initiatives, and organizational strengthening. The funds are intended to assist organizations in making meaningful impacts on abortion access and reproductive justice. The grant application process includes a concept note, followed by full proposal submission for shortlisted candidates. Organizations are encouraged to present projects that align with SAAF’s commitment to abortion rights, with funding available for general support or specific project initiatives as needed.
