On the Edge Storytelling Grant for Conservation Projects

On the Edge is dedicated to reconnecting people with the natural world through storytelling and science. By focusing on EDGE species—Evolutionarily Distinct and Globally Endangered species—and overlooked ecosystems, the organization aims to inspire behavior change and amplify conservation efforts. Through creative collaborations between storytellers and conservationists, On the Edge highlights the importance of preserving biodiversity. The organization provides mentorship, capacity-building opportunities, and access to a global network to empower storytellers in making a local impact.

This grant offers £5,000 to £15,000 to six storytellers, including filmmakers, photographers, musicians, artists, actors, or creatives, over a 1-year period with an optional 1-year extension. The initiative supports storytelling projects that protect EDGE species or zones by influencing local behavior towards nature. Storytellers will collaborate with conservationists to create impactful narratives that shift perceptions and highlight biodiversity. Beyond funding, recipients receive mentorship, scientific support, capacity-building workshops, and access to On the Edge’s network to maximize engagement and visibility.
