About the Grant
The BBVA Foundation Frontiers of Knowledge Awards celebrate groundbreaking contributions across eight categories: Basic Sciences, Biology and Biomedicine, Information and Communication Technologies, Climate Change and Environmental Sciences, Economics and Finance, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Music and Opera. These awards recognize individuals or teams whose work has led to significant advancements in their respective fields. Each award includes a 400,000 euro prize, a diploma, and a commemorative artwork. The Foundation also encourages nominations from scientific, cultural, and environmental organizations and institutions globally. The awards recognize contributions that have a lasting impact on society and advance the global knowledge map.
Who can Apply?
The BBVA Foundation Frontiers of Knowledge Awards are open to individuals, teams, and organizations worldwide who have made independent or convergent contributions in one of the eight recognized categories. Applicants can include natural persons or scientific and cultural organizations with exceptional achievements. These awards are not open to posthumous nominations. Nominations must come from scientific, academic, cultural, or environmental institutions, with candidates demonstrating innovative contributions in their respective fields. Individuals and teams working in parallel or formal collaboration are eligible.
How to Apply?
Nominations should be submitted by a recognized institution or organization. The application must include a description of the candidate’s contributions, their curriculum vitae, and supporting documentation, all submitted in English.

Nominations open on January 1, 2024, and close at 16:00 GMT on June 30, 2024.
