About the Grant
The Inlaks Fellowship for Social Engagement provides young individuals with the chance to work under a mentor and immerse themselves in initiatives that drive social transformation. Fellows can engage in diverse fields such as grassroots journalism, ecological preservation, public health, cultural archiving, and community rights. The fellowship spans two years, with the first six months serving as a probation period. Quarterly and annual reviews assess the fellow’s progress. Stipends are allocated based on the fellow’s location, with additional funding available for special projects upon approval. This fellowship empowers participants to challenge norms and make significant contributions to society.
Who can Apply?
Applicants must be Indian citizens residing in India and born on or after January 1, 1989. They should hold a recognized Bachelor’s degree from an Indian university or have at least three years of relevant work experience in its absence. The fellowship is open to graduates seeking to explore and address societal issues in innovative ways. However, individuals pursuing academic studies, including PhDs, during the fellowship period are ineligible to apply. The fellowship particularly seeks candidates motivated to create social impact and develop meaningful solutions.
