About the Grant
The IAPS AI Policy Fellowship is a fully-funded, three-month immersive program designed for professionals seeking to advance their expertise in artificial intelligence policy. Running from September 1 to November 21, 2025, the program offers both in-person and remote participation options, with a mandatory in-person residency in Washington, D.C. during the first two weeks. The Fellowship provides participants with the opportunity to work on meaningful, high-impact policy projects under the guidance of field experts. Fellows engage in activities such as drafting policy papers, hosting events, and briefing government stakeholders, all focused on pressing AI policy challenges ranging from national security and geopolitics to ethical governance and AI export controls. The fellowship aims to produce tangible policy outputs, such as white papers, presentations, and strategic recommendations, while also enhancing each fellow’s career trajectory. Weekly mentorship, hands-on support, access to a broad professional network, and optional post-program career transition assistance are key components of the fellowship. This initiative supports individuals transitioning into AI policy roles in government, think tanks, or the private sector, making it an ideal stepping stone for those passionate about shaping the future of AI governance and ensuring responsible AI innovation.
