About Organisation

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is the UN agency mandated to protect refugees, forcibly displaced people and stateless populations worldwide. In Peru, UNHCR works with government institutions, civil society organizations and other partners to strengthen protection, access to essential services and longer-term solutions for displaced populations. Its work includes support related to documentation, health, education, shelter, livelihoods and social inclusion. Through partnerships with local organizations, UNHCR seeks to connect refugees and asylum seekers with national systems and services. The Peru 2027–2029 strategy emphasizes protection and solutions, including stronger access to healthcare and other essential services.

About the Grant

The UNHCR Peru Health Services Partnership invites organizations to become implementing partners for health-related activities under UNHCR’s 2027–2029 Multiyear Country Strategy. The opportunity focuses on improving access to healthcare for refugees, asylum seekers and other forcibly displaced people in Peru. Supported activities may include primary healthcare, individual case management, health insurance enrollment, referrals, community health days, specialized consultations and health-worker sensitization. Partners may also support culturally appropriate healthcare and targeted improvements to health infrastructure and equipment. The initiative aims to remove financial, administrative, geographic and informational barriers while strengthening connections between displaced populations and Peru’s public healthcare system.

Who can Apply?

The opportunity is intended for organizations capable of implementing health and protection programmes for forcibly displaced populations in Peru. Potential implementing partners should demonstrate relevant health-sector expertise, experience working with refugees, asylum seekers or vulnerable populations, and the ability to coordinate with public health institutions. Relevant capabilities may include primary healthcare delivery, individual case management, referral systems, community outreach, health insurance support, specialized healthcare access and culturally sensitive service delivery. Organizations should also have appropriate monitoring, reporting, financial and operational systems. Experience working with vulnerable groups, including women, children, older people, persons with disabilities and other marginalized populations, is particularly relevant.

How to Apply?

Organizations should review the UNHCR partnership requirements and identify the health activities that match their expertise and geographic capacity. Applicants should demonstrate relevant experience with refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable populations, together with health-sector, case-management, referral and community-outreach capabilities. Prepare the required organizational and technical information and submit the Expression of Interest through the designated UN Partner Portal according to the official call instructions before the 06 September 2026 deadline.
