About the Grant
USAID’s Climate Finance for Development Accelerator (CFDA) initiative aims to attract $2.5 billion in total investments by 2030 for climate action. This program supports projects focused on reaching net-zero emissions and helps countries fulfill their climate goals as outlined in the Paris Agreement.
- Objective 1: Effective partnerships and new investment answers are evolved and scaled to power transformational exchange in nations wherein USAID operates.
- Objective 2: The allowing environment for weather finance is progressed, and broader participation from numerous stakeholders is promoted.
- Objective 3: Local and international capacities are more suitable to attract greater sources into weather finance.
- Partnership platform: Connects private sector, foundations, and others with the Climate Finance Investment Network (CFIN) to support climate projects aligned with USAID’s goals and the Paris Agreement.
- Boosting climate finance: Works with partners to improve the enabling environment for climate finance, facilitate partnerships, and attract private sector investment through innovative projects and incentives.
- Closing finance gaps: Empowers local partners to identify and develop solutions that address gaps in local climate finance systems, allowing for more effective deployment of funds.
- Inclusive investment: Supports local actors, marginalized communities, and underrepresented businesses in accessing climate finance and leading climate initiatives through partnerships and guidance.
Who can Apply?
Joining the CFIN is free and comes with no obligations. The CFIN welcomes companies interested in supporting private-sector finance for climate action in developing countries.
This may involve developing, testing, or scaling up solutions. To join, fill out a brief (10-minute) partnership intake form. This will help the CFIN connect you with relevant opportunities and determine if you qualify for special projects.
How to Apply?
The Climate Finance Investment Network (CFIN) is a program by USAID, managed by the Climate Finance for Development Accelerator (CFDA). It brings together various stakeholders involved in climate finance from emerging and frontier markets. CFIN’s main objective is to encourage collaboration and attract private sector investments towards climate solutions.
This is done through activities such as sharing knowledge, facilitating partnerships, and offering financial support. The CFDA also works with local partners to develop initiatives targeting specific climate objectives within their countries.
