About Organisation

Lloyd’s Register Foundation is an independent global charity working to make the world a safer place. Its work focuses on improving safety through engineering, research, education and the use of evidence to address risks affecting people, infrastructure and society. The Foundation supports initiatives that generate practical knowledge, encourage collaboration and contribute to safer systems.

About the Grant

The Small Grants Programme 2026 supports organisations seeking to test promising ideas, develop partnerships and generate useful evidence through small-scale projects. Funding may be used for pilot studies, proof-of-concept activities, research, knowledge exchange and other projects aligned with the Foundation’s charitable mission of engineering a safer world. The programme also welcomes proposals that use findings from the Foundation’s World Risk Poll to produce new insights, evidence or resources for relevant audiences. Projects should demonstrate a clear connection to safety, risk reduction, engineering or the Foundation’s strategic priorities.

Who can Apply?

Applications are open to registered organisations, including charities, NGOs, community and voluntary organisations, social enterprises, not-for-profit organisations, academic and research institutions, public-sector bodies and incorporated companies. Applicants must be able to demonstrate their legal status, governance arrangements, project objectives and the relevance of their proposed work to the Foundation’s charitable mission. Individuals cannot apply independently.

How to Apply?

Organisations must then register on the official grants portal and submit an online application with a clear description of the proposed project, its intended beneficiaries, expected outcomes, delivery plan and budget.
