About Organisation
The Embassy of the Czech Republic in New Delhi supports the promotion of human rights, democracy, and free media through its Local Transition and Media Projects (LTP) initiative, which is part of the Czech Republic’s Transition Promotion Program. The program is an integral part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ effort to uphold civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights. With a strong emphasis on equality and non-discrimination, the program seeks to remove obstacles hindering equality in various social contexts. The Czech Republic, through its foreign policy, works towards supporting civil society, human rights defenders, freedom of expression, public participation, rule of law, and environmental rights across multiple regions. The Czech government’s approach reflects a commitment to human dignity and the indivisibility of human rights, focusing its efforts on promoting international human rights mechanisms and supporting global civil society organizations.
About the Grant
The Local Transition and Media Projects (LTP) grants are part of the Czech Republic’s initiative to support human rights and democratic values in specific regions. Projects should aim to foster civil society, uphold the rule of law, promote freedom of the media, and advance non-discrimination. The LTP offers financial contributions ranging from 100,000 CZK to 500,000 CZK. These funds support projects that align with the Czech Republic’s thematic priorities, including promoting equality, human rights in employment, and public participation. The project duration spans from March 2025 to September 2025. Co-financing from other sources is encouraged to amplify the project’s impact, and all expenditures must be documented. Each organization is eligible to apply for one project under this scheme. The grants are particularly aimed at organizations in regions such as Eastern Europe, the Western Balkans, and other culturally and geographically relevant areas.
Who can Apply?
Eligible applicants for the LTP grants must be non-governmental entities, including organizations from India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. These organizations must have legal subjectivity within the country of project implementation and be able to sign contracts under Czech law and jurisdiction. Political parties or state institutions are not eligible to apply. In India, organizations must hold a valid Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) license to receive foreign funding. The project implementer should have the capacity to execute and sustain the project effectively, with the ability to provide proper documentation for all financial transactions. Applications are evaluated based on the project’s relevance, feasibility, quality, and sustainability. Only one project application per organization is allowed, and the Embassy encourages proposals that exhibit innovation and a strong alignment with Czech foreign policy priorities.
