About Organisation

EKOenergy is an international ecolabel for sustainable renewable electricity. About the Grant

EKOenergy’s Climate Fund invites proposals for 15-20 short-term solar PV and wind energy projects in low- and middle-income countries. Grants range from €15,000 to €40,000, with up to €60,000 available for organizations previously funded in 2023 or 2024. Projects must prioritize community involvement, allocate at least 50% of funding to new renewable energy installations, and include a clear plan for sustainability and advocacy. Priority regions include India, Malaysia, and South Africa.

Who can Apply?

Eligible applicants are non-profit organizations with a demonstrated capacity to promote renewable energy. Projects must actively involve the community in planning and decision-making, ensuring their needs and priorities are central to the initiative. Proposals should emphasize multiple community benefits, allocate a minimum of 50% of the grant to new solar PV or wind energy systems, and include plans for long-term renewable energy promotion and community engagement.
