About Organisation
The Milkywire Climate Transformation Fund (CTF), launched in 2021, is a philanthropic initiative designed to support transformative projects crucial to achieving global net-zero emissions. The CTF operates with an impact-first approach, focusing on solutions that offer the highest long-term climate impact. Over the past four years, the fund has contributed more than $14 million to 49 innovative projects, with support from prominent corporate partners like Klarna, Spotify, and Bolt. These collaborations aim to create measurable, long-term climate outcomes by tackling climate challenges through durable carbon removal, emission reductions, and nature restoration. The CTF strives to catalyze the scaling of sustainable and impactful solutions that align with its goal of reducing global carbon emissions and advancing systemic climate change mitigation.
About the Grant
The Milkywire Climate Transformation Fund (CTF) focuses on three core pillars: durable carbon removal, emission reductions, and nature restoration and protection. Currently, the 2025 call for proposals is open for projects in durable carbon removal. This pillar emphasizes the development and scaling of carbon removal technologies that are sustainable, cost-effective, and contribute to ecosystem-wide benefits. Projects selected for funding aim to achieve significant climate impact and catalyze further advancements in carbon removal methods. The CTF also encourages projects that offer additional co-benefits, such as enhanced scientific knowledge or expanded geographical application. For emission reductions and nature restoration, the fund supports innovative, scalable initiatives that drive systemic change and prioritize equity, community empowerment, and biodiversity conservation. These pillars aim to create long-term environmental, social, and economic benefits. The CTF is committed to supporting projects that meet these criteria and offer measurable, long-lasting impact.
Who can Apply?
The Milkywire Climate Transformation Fund invites organizations that focus on groundbreaking solutions in carbon removal, emission reductions, and nature restoration to submit proposals.
