AVPN is Asia’s largest social investor network, boasting over 600 members across 33 markets. As an ecosystem facilitator, AVPN connects policymakers, foundations, family offices, and private sector entities, aiming to increase the impact of capital deployed toward addressing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Asia. Their mission is to drive a strategic, collaborative approach to social investing, ensuring resources are effectively utilized to tackle key social challenges. In partnership with Google.org and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), AVPN focuses on initiatives that prepare the workforce for future challenges, ensuring workers are equipped with the skills needed to thrive in evolving job markets influenced by AI. AVPN is committed to empowering a broad spectrum of organizations to make impactful changes, enabling Asia’s workforce to adapt to technological advances and secure sustainable employment.
About the Grant
The AI Opportunity Fund: Asia-Pacific is an initiative by AVPN, Google.org, and ADB to aid workers in the Asia-Pacific region facing challenges due to AI-driven workforce changes. This grant is designed to empower nonprofits, social enterprises, civic institutions, municipalities, labor unions, and professional associations that engage and support workers affected by these transitions. Selected organizations will receive financial aid, comprehensive AI training, and bespoke guidance tailored to their unique needs. This includes foundational AI courses designed by Google and its partners, alongside networking opportunities to facilitate knowledge sharing and support. The goal is to foster a more inclusive and resilient workforce, equipping vulnerable groups with AI skills and tools to enhance career prospects in an AI-driven economy.
Who can Apply?
The AI Opportunity Fund welcomes applications from a diverse range of organizations operating in the Asia-Pacific region. Eligible applicants include charitable nonprofits, public interest organizations, social enterprises, civic institutions, municipalities, labor unions, and professional associations supporting workers impacted by AI-related workforce shifts. Applicants should have a proven track record in aiding vulnerable workers and demonstrate the capacity to effectively utilize the training and financial resources offered by the grant. The scope of eligible geographic regions covers all Asia-Pacific markets. Organizations should be legally registered and operating within the Asia-Pacific area. While international organizations with multi-market coverage can apply, they must identify the specific markets they operate within. Partnerships in project implementation are allowed, but applications must be submitted by a single entity. English language submissions are encouraged, but local language applications are also accepted.

Interested organizations can apply through the designated online portal. Applications require detailed information on organizational background, the proposed solution, and its impact. All required documents should be uploaded via the portal.
