About the Grant
“She Wins Climate” is an IFC flagship initiative launched at COP28, aimed at accelerating women-led climate startups in emerging markets and developing economies. This program addresses systemic barriers to equitable financing, providing a supportive ecosystem for female entrepreneurs. It features regional acceleration programs for women-led businesses across Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Eastern Europe, along with a peer learning platform for fund managers to enhance gender-lens investing strategies. By raising awareness and building capacity, this program aims to transform the climate finance landscape, ultimately increasing access to investment for women-led startups.
Who can Apply?
The “She Wins Climate” program welcomes applications from women-led startups focused on climate change solutions. Eligibility criteria include: the founder must be a woman, with a minimum age of 21; businesses should be established for at least one year; and must be based in eligible countries across South Asia, Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and Türkiye. Additionally, startups must be in the pre-seed to Series A stages, fluent in English, and addressing climate-related issues, such as emissions reduction or sustainable products.
How to Apply?
Interested startups can apply to the “She Wins Climate” program when the call for applications opens in Fall 2024. Selection will conclude by the end of the year, and the program will commence in early 2025.
