The First Solar Community Giving Fund offers Civic Engagement and Environmental Impact grants aimed at supporting projects in “green” education, clean energy, water access in underserved regions, and the development of sustainable technologies. It prioritizes initiatives in the U.S., India, Malaysia, and Vietnam. The fund provides grants over $10,000 USD and can also donate solar modules for qualifying projects. This initiative aligns with First Solar’s commitment to community development and environmental sustainability.

Who can Apply?

Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status in the U.S., as well as organizations that can demonstrate a charitable purpose for grant funding. The fund prioritizes projects located in or serving residents of the U.S., India, Malaysia, and Vietnam. Organizations must submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) to be considered. Grants will be awarded for civic and environmental impact projects that further First Solar’s mission. Organizations can also request module donations, subject to technical feasibility.

How to Apply?

Submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) through the Greater Toledo Community Foundation’s online application portal. The LOI must detail the project, objectives, funding requested, and its benefits. Ensure that applications are in English.
