About the Grant

The WiDEF Grant aims to scale solutions that address the gender digital divide and improve digital inclusion for women. It focuses on projects that drive access to affordable digital devices, enhance digital literacy, ensure online safety, and promote the development of products and tools that meet women’s needs, particularly for income generation. Awardees will receive funding between $100,000 and $500,000 over 15-18 months, along with mentorship, learning exchanges, and networking opportunities. The grant encourages applicants to propose innovative solutions that will address barriers preventing women’s access to technology while fostering digital literacy and economic empowerment.

Who can Apply?

Eligible applicants must be small or medium-sized for-profit Indian entities (under 250 employees) or non-profits with a valid FCRA license. They must demonstrate a commitment to gender equality and have the capacity to implement projects targeting digital inclusion for women, especially marginalized groups. Applicants must also comply with USAID criteria, have a local presence, and be able to receive USD payments. WiDEF encourages applications from entities with female leaders or board members.
