About the Grant
The SURE! Invest 2026 Funding Program provides financial support for regional climate adaptation projects focusing on heat protection and sustainable water management. The programme encourages investments in green and blue infrastructure, passive cooling systems, rainwater management, water retention and drought resilience measures. It aims to help communities reduce the impacts of extreme weather while improving environmental quality and public well-being. Projects should deliver long-term climate resilience and broad community benefits. Eligible regions can receive funding of up to €40,000, with projects expected to complement existing climate adaptation initiatives and promote sustainable regional development.
Who can Apply?
The SURE! Invest 2026 Funding Program is open to eligible KLAR! (Climate Change Adaptation Model Regions) and KEM (Climate and Energy Model Regions) that are in the implementation phase. Regions where KLAR! and KEM programmes overlap must coordinate with KLAR! management before submitting a KEM application. Applicants must contribute at least 25% of project costs through regional funding. Only one application may be submitted per eligible region under this funding call. Projects should address genuine climate adaptation challenges and follow principles of environmental sustainability, social inclusion and long-term climate resilience.
How to Apply?
Eligible regions should prepare a proposal describing the climate adaptation challenge, planned investment measures, expected regional benefits, implementation timeline and detailed budget. Applications must also explain why alternative funding is unavailable and include required procurement documentation where applicable. Complete proposals should be submitted before the programme deadline for evaluation based on impact, feasibility and compliance with funding requirements.
