The Seeding the Future Global Food System Challenge focuses on supporting initiatives that align with its mission of improving food systems worldwide. Its vision is to ensure that everyone has equitable access to safe, nutritious, and sustainable food while enhancing the health of both people and the planet. Through this challenge, the organization seeks to drive impactful and innovative food system advancements with the potential to reach a global scale.
About the Grant
The Seeding the Future Global Food System Challenge encourages groundbreaking innovations in the food sector. By addressing key areas such as empowering conscious consumer choices, implementing sustainable practices, and promoting safe, nutritious food, the challenge aims to stimulate systemic change. Monetary awards, including Seed Grants, Growth Grants, and Grand Prizes, will be provided to support the development of scalable and impactful food system solutions. These awards are designed to propel innovation towards creating a food system that is sustainable, resilient, and regenerative, impacting millions of lives globally. The challenge will offer a total of up to $1 million annually in funding, including Seed Grants of $25,000, Growth Grants of $100,000, and Seeding the Future Grand Prizes of $250,000.
Who can Apply?
This challenge is open to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), non-profits, social enterprises, universities, research institutions, and emerging for-profit companies from any country. To qualify, projects must present innovative and impactful solutions that address at least one of the challenge’s focus areas while ensuring that no negative consequences arise in other domains. Applicants must demonstrate that their innovations are practical, scalable, and capable of making a significant difference for both people and the environment. However, individual applicants and projects from countries subject to U.S. sanctions (Cuba, Iran, Syria, North Korea, Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk) are excluded.
