Qmet Tech Foundation is a not-for-profit Section-8 company established by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. It operates under the National Quantum Mission (NQM), a strategic initiative by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. The foundation serves as an enabler of cutting-edge research, innovation, and capacity building in quantum technologies. As part of India’s vision to become a global leader in emerging scientific domains, Qmet Tech Foundation focuses on advancing quantum science through collaborative academic-industry programs and high-impact research. About the Grant
Qmet PARIMANA (Program for Advanced Research in Imaging, Metrology, And Nano-scale Applications of Quantum Sensing) Fellowship is a key initiative under the National Quantum Mission to develop skilled human resources in Quantum Technologies and Applications (QTA). The program includes three categories: undergraduate internships, postgraduate fellowships, and doctoral research fellowships. It emphasizes hands-on training, industry collaboration, and innovation in quantum sensing and metrology (QSM). While undergraduate students will gain real-world exposure through internships, postgraduate students will benefit from advanced learning and research opportunities. The PhD track is designed to support independent research aimed at developing new scientific knowledge and solutions. Overall, the fellowship aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry and nurture the next generation of quantum technology professionals.
Who can Apply?
Undergraduate students from any engineering or science discipline can apply if they have completed at least one year of study, have a minimum of 10 months left in their course, and hold a minimum CGPA of 6.0 (or 60%).
Postgraduate applicants must be enrolled in a QTA-related program at IITs, NITs, or other recognized institutions with a valid GATE/JAM score (except IIT dual-degree students). A minimum CGPA of 6.0 (or 60%) is required.
Doctoral candidates must be admitted to PhD programs in QTA or related fields at recognized institutions, with a minimum CGPA of 7.5 (or 70%).
In all categories, applicants should not be receiving any other government-funded scholarships or grants during the fellowship period.
How to Apply?
Applicants must fill out the official application form, attach a project proposal and executive summary in the prescribed formats, identify a mentor, and submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their institute.
