About the Fellowship

The Pulse Research Fellowship is a six-month program designed to support early-career researchers in conducting innovative, data-driven research on Internet measurement and policy. The fellowship focuses on areas that contribute to a more resilient, secure, and globally connected Internet. Fellows will collaborate with international experts, gain valuable mentorship, and present their findings at prestigious conferences. The program also includes the introduction of a mentorship scheme in 2025. Research topics cover various areas such as Internet shutdowns, resilience, market concentration, and more.

Who can Apply?

The fellowship is open to early-career researchers (graduate students, postdocs, junior faculty, and non-institutional researchers within 10 years of graduation) globally. Applicants should be affiliated with an academic or research institution and have expertise in Internet measurements, policy, or data analysis. They must propose research relevant to the Pulse focus areas, and they should be able to commit at least 25 hours per week to the program. Applicants are required to submit a letter of support from their supervisor.
