About the Grant

Protected or Conserved Area Creation Awards provide funding for the establishment or expansion of sustainable conservation areas, either on land or sea. Projects may include legal designation, land titling, or purchasing conservation areas. Awards are assessed on an individual basis, with no maximum funding limit. These grants prioritize biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation, and community development, ensuring alignment with local and governmental needs. Successful projects must establish effective management systems, protect against biodiversity threats, and promote sustainable use of resources, benefiting both the environment and local communities.
