About Organisation
Kindness Grows Here is dedicated to encouraging kindness in children and teens by empowering them to make positive changes in their communities. By valuing the unique perspectives of young people, the organization supports initiatives that allow kids to identify issues in their schools, neighborhoods, and larger communities, and creatively address those problems with acts of kindness. Through its “Kid Kindness Grants” program, the organization has supported numerous projects that spread kindness directly within communities. Over the past six years, Kindness Grows Here has awarded more than $60,000 in grants across 32 states and 7 countries.
About the Grant
The Kid Kindness Grants are designed for children and teens aged 5-18 who have creative ideas to spread kindness in their communities. The grants support projects where young people directly engage in acts of kindness, aiming to solve local issues through meaningful personal connections. Kids and teens can apply individually or as part of a group, with individuals eligible for up to $250, small groups (2-4 kids) for up to $500, and large groups (5+ kids) for up to $800. The program emphasizes youth involvement in developing and executing projects, ensuring that grants fund initiatives carried out entirely by the youth applicants under adult supervision. Over the past six years, the program has awarded more than $60,000 in funding, impacting children in 32 states and 7 countries.
Who can Apply?
- Applicants must be between the ages of 5-18 and apply individually or as a group.
- Applications must be completed by the applicants themselves (with some adult assistance if noted).
- Projects must focus on spreading kindness directly to people in the community (not animals or organizations).
- A detailed project budget is required.
- An adult must supervise the project to ensure funds are used responsibly.
How to Apply?
Submit the online application with details on the project, the target impact, a detailed budget, and plans for carrying out the project. All applications must be completed by the youth applicants.
