About the Grant

The IFAD Rural Sector Performance Assessment Grant 2026 seeks an organisation or consortium to implement the initiative titled “Leveraging IFAD’s Rural Sector Performance Assessment for Policy and Investment.” The programme aims to strengthen country-level policy assessment and improve the policy and investment environment for rural development. Through this funding opportunity, IFAD encourages evidence-based research, policy analysis, and strategic recommendations that enhance agricultural development and rural economies. Selected recipients will collaborate with IFAD to deliver activities that support stronger rural policies, increased investment, and sustainable development outcomes across eligible countries.

Who can Apply?

Eligible applicants include non-profit organisations, private sector companies, universities, think tanks, and research institutes. Applications may be submitted individually or as a consortium. Selected recipients must provide a counterpart contribution of at least 20% of the IFAD grant amount, while private sector applicants must contribute 25%. In-kind contributions may be counted toward this requirement where applicable. Applicants must submit a project proposal, indicative budget, self-certification of eligibility, and an institutional profile demonstrating relevant expertise in rural development, policy assessment, research, and implementation within the proposed thematic or geographic areas.
