About Organisation

The adidas Foundation is a Germany-based philanthropic organisation headquartered in Nürnberg that believes sport can create lasting social change. Rather than providing one-time grants, the Foundation develops long-term strategic partnerships with experienced organisations to design impactful programmes collaboratively. Its work prioritises safeguarding, evidence generation, shared governance, and sustainable community impact. By supporting initiatives that use sport as a catalyst for wellbeing and inclusion, the Foundation promotes innovative approaches to addressing global social challenges. Through co-development with trusted partners, the adidas Foundation invests in programmes that improve opportunities, resilience, and recovery for vulnerable children and young people worldwide.

About the Grant

The Recovery Through Sport Strategic Partnership 2026 is a new adidas Foundation initiative that explores how sport and physical activity can support children and young people recovering from crises and displacement. Instead of seeking completed project proposals, the Foundation is identifying experienced organisations interested in co-designing long-term programmes. Selected partners will collaboratively shape programme design, funding structures, governance, and implementation approaches. The initiative builds on evidence developed by experts in mental health, psychosocial support, and sport. It aims to strengthen recovery, belonging, resilience, and safe participation through evidence-based, sport-driven interventions across crisis-affected communities worldwide.

Who can Apply?

Eligible applicants are organisations with established expertise in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), safeguarding, and recovery programming. Applicants should demonstrate operational experience across multiple crisis or recovery settings and have experience using sport or physical activity as part of recovery programmes, either directly or through partners. Organisations must show a commitment to collaborative governance, transparency, learning, and evidence generation. Strong child safeguarding systems, legal organisational status, and financial accountability are essential. Applicants should also be prepared to co-design programmes with the adidas Foundation rather than submit fully developed project proposals.

How to Apply?

Interested organisations must submit an online Expression of Interest (EOI) form after preparing responses offline, as draft submissions cannot be saved. Applications should include organisational information, responses to narrative questions, eligibility confirmations, and required supporting documents such as safeguarding policies, MHPSS summaries, legal registration proof, and recent financial statements. Complete submissions must be submitted before the application deadline.

Application Deadline

The application deadline is 30 August 2026.
