Call for Grant Applications -IBRO Collaborative Research Grants 2025

Application Deadline:
15 March 2025
About Organisation
The International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) is a global network committed to advancing neuroscience through collaboration, funding, and knowledge-sharing. IBRO aims to foster scientific research and education by providing grants, training programs, and networking opportunities to neuroscientists worldwide. It actively supports researchers at various stages of their careers, particularly those from underrepresented and emerging scientific communities.
IBRO’s initiatives are designed to bridge geographical and resource gaps, encouraging international partnerships and innovation. Through its regional committees, IBRO ensures equitable access to research funding, fostering scientific excellence in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and Pan-Europe. The organization plays a crucial role in strengthening neuroscience research through targeted support, collaborative projects, and capacity-building programs.
By facilitating global interactions, IBRO empowers emerging and established scientists to exchange expertise, drive groundbreaking discoveries, and contribute to the development of neuroscience worldwide. Its funding programs, including collaborative research grants, are designed to support research networks, advance scientific knowledge, and promote sustainable progress in neuroscience research.
About the Grant
The IBRO Collaborative Research Grants aim to promote international scientific collaboration by funding partnerships between emerging and established research groups. The primary objective is to facilitate research exchanges and strengthen cooperation between scientists across different regions. These grants cover essential expenses such as travel, accommodation, subsistence, and research-related costs, ensuring seamless collaboration.
The grant is structured to support the direct costs associated with research partnerships. However, it does not cover overhead or indirect institutional expenses. The awarded projects must commence in 2025 and conclude within two years from the start date. Additionally, bi-directional travel between the partnering groups is a key requirement to enhance research collaboration and knowledge exchange.
To maintain transparency and accountability, the funding is disbursed in two phases: 80% is provided two months before the project begins, and the remaining 20% is awarded upon completion and submission of a project report. Grant recipients must submit a funding report after one year of collaboration. This initiative fosters knowledge-sharing and strengthens scientific networks, contributing to the overall development of neuroscience research on a global scale.
