Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund Grant Program 2024
Application Deadline:
31st October, 2024
About Organisation
The Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund is a philanthropic initiative dedicated to providing targeted grants to support species conservation efforts worldwide. Established with the mission of ensuring the survival of threatened species, the Fund focuses on in situ conservation efforts, encouraging direct action in the natural habitats of endangered, critically endangered, or data-deficient species. The Fund emphasizes scientific, evidence-based approaches and strives to fill gaps in conservation that may be overlooked by larger programs. It provides financial assistance to individuals and organizations working on the frontline of species conservation, with the aim of sustaining biodiversity and protecting vulnerable species. The Fund prioritizes species facing the highest risk of extinction, addressing both known and lesser-known species that are in critical need of attention. By supporting conservation initiatives globally, the Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund seeks to make a tangible impact on species survival, safeguarding biodiversity for future generations.
About the Grant
The Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund offers financial support for species conservation projects, with priority given to endangered and critically endangered species, as well as data-deficient or unlisted species suspected of being at high risk. The Fund’s main focus is on in situ conservation efforts, which take place in the natural habitats of species. Projects that involve direct conservation actions, such as field surveys, data gathering, species recovery management, and training, are particularly encouraged. The Fund provides grants of up to $25,000 for individual projects. Applications that request more than this amount will be automatically rejected. While the total budget for a project can exceed $25,000 if other sources of funding are involved, the Fund will not provide more than $25,000. This initiative aims to support conservationists working directly with species in the field, contributing to the preservation of global biodiversity.
Who can Apply?
The Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund is open to anyone actively involved in species conservation work. Individuals, organizations, and institutions worldwide can apply for the grant. Projects must focus on the conservation of species that are either endangered, critically endangered, or suspected to be highly threatened. The Fund prefers projects that concentrate on a single species, though exceptions can be made for geographic or taxonomic circumstances where multiple species are involved. Applications must be submitted in English, with project budgets provided in US Dollars. It is essential that applicants accurately represent the conservation status of the species in question; proposals with incorrect or unjustified conservation status will not be considered. Additionally, applications requesting more than the maximum grant size of $25,000 will be disqualified. The Fund aims to support those actively engaged in direct conservation efforts in the field.
How to Apply?
To apply, submit a detailed proposal in English, including a clear project description, budget in US Dollars, and justification for the species’ conservation status. Applications must adhere to Fund guidelines.
