The French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs is committed to advancing gender equality and combating gender-based violence through international initiatives. The Ministry has established the Laboratory for Women’s Rights Online, a platform designed to address online and technology-facilitated gender-based violence.
Launched on International Women’s Day 2024, this initiative unites governments, international organizations, civil society, private sector actors, and experts to support and incubate innovative projects tackling online violence against women.

The Laboratory for Women’s Rights Online is offering grants to support projects that combat online and technology-facilitated gender-based violence. This initiative, unveiled at the 78th UN General Assembly, aims to fund technical solutions, research, and awareness campaigns.
The program focuses on creating coordination spaces, developing technological tools, and supporting research on gender-based violence facilitated by technology. Projects must address issues such as AI-related harassment, online misogyny, and digital education.
Who can Apply?
- Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations, civil society groups, research entities, and private sector actors that are legally established and have at least two years of relevant experience.
- Applicants must be based in an eligible country and directly responsible for project management.
- They should demonstrate experience with similar funding and possess a bank account for grant funds.
- A consortium is not required but may be formed.
