About the Grant
The “decolonize!” grant by CRIF is designed to support youth activists tackling racism, colonialism, and anti-Blackness. This funding stream prioritizes the use of arts as a tool for social change and aims to empower young leaders in creating impactful projects.
Grants ranging from $1,000 to $7,500 are available for core operational needs or specific project-based funding. Decisions are made by a cohort of peer youth activists known as “The Collaborative,” who determine the grant awards.
Who can Apply?
- The grant is open to Black children and youth activists aged 30 or below, working with or for children and youth aged 13-25.
- Applicants must be involved with a community-based or social movement organization supporting Black, African, or African descent children and youth.
- Eligible entities include informal collectives, unregistered groups, or registered organizations.
- Special consideration is given to those from marginalized areas and those in the LGBTQ+ community or with disabilities.
