About Organisation
The Lush Spring Prize is a biennial award funded by Lush, a vegetarian company that promotes regenerative practices. They partner with the Ethical Consumer Research Association to evaluate applicants.
The Prize aims to support organizations and communities working to heal the planet and inspire others. They prioritize projects that don’t harm animals and encourage alternatives to animal consumption.
About the Grant
- Supports new ideas and projects (under 1 year old) for establishing a strong foundation.
- Young Award (up to £20,000): Supports young projects (1-5 years old) with a proven track record seeking to expand or develop.
- Established Award (up to £25,000): Supports established organizations (over 5 years old) with a history of successful and inspirational work.
- Influence Award (£25,000 minimum): Recognizes impactful work of shortlisted applicants from other categories (nominated by judges).
There are also two collaborative prizes:
- Indigenous Knowledge & Wisdom Award (£20,000): Honors traditional ecological knowledge of indigenous peoples.
- Permaculture Magazine Award (£25,000): Recognizes inspirational permaculture projects over 3 years old.
Who can Apply?
- Organizations, communities, networks, or businesses working on environmental and social regeneration projects.
- Projects can be in the early stages (Intentional Award) or established (Established Award).
- Organizations working on animal alternatives are prioritized (vegetarian company funding).
- Projects outside strict categories can apply if they demonstrate strong arguments for consideration.
- Organizations can only apply to one category (age restrictions apply).
- Organizations cannot win two years in a row.
