The Elephant Managers Association (EMA) is an international nonprofit network of elephant keepers, veterinarians, researchers, administrators, and conservation professionals. EMA works to advance the welfare and long-term survival of elephants worldwide by strengthening communication, husbandry practices, scientific research, education, and conservation efforts.

About the Grant

The 2026 EMA Small Grant Program supports field-based elephant conservation projects in Africa and Asia. Two grants of USD 3,000 each will be awarded. The program prioritizes initiatives that promote education and community outreach, build local capacity, and improve captive elephant management and welfare. Preference is given to new or unique projects, or seed funding for innovative components of existing work, particularly those with transferable outcomes that can benefit wider elephant populations in wild or captive settings.
