About Organisation
The Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN) is a leading organization that promotes sustainable development and global change research in the Asia-Pacific region. With a focus on addressing key challenges related to climate change, disaster risk reduction, and environmental sustainability, APN collaborates with international scientists, governments, and institutions. APN is committed to fostering regional cooperation and capacity-building, ensuring the region’s effective engagement with global sustainability agendas. By providing funding and a platform for collaboration, APN supports research initiatives that align with its strategic priorities and thematic areas. APN’s approach emphasizes scientific capacity development and fosters a multi-disciplinary and transnational understanding of environmental challenges. Through its two major funding programmes, the Collaborative Regional Research Programme (CRRP) and the Scientific Capacity Development Programme (CAPaBLE), APN continues to empower research networks that promote long-term regional sustainability and resilience.
About the Grant
APN’s 2024 Call for Proposals invites researchers, institutions, and early-career professionals in the Asia-Pacific region to submit proposals for funding under its Collaborative Regional Research Programme (CRRP) and Scientific Capacity Development Programme (CAPaBLE). These programmes aim to support research and capacity-building initiatives that contribute to APN’s core thematic areas, specifically targeting one or more sub-regional priority topics. This funding, available from October 2025, focuses on fostering regional collaboration and scientific innovation in areas such as climate adaptation, environmental protection, and disaster resilience. Special consideration is given to early-career professionals, with priority given to proposals led by or involving early-career teams. Proponents are encouraged to develop projects that address regional sustainability challenges and contribute to long-term solutions. APN’s support for these programmes is part of its commitment to advancing scientific understanding and policy development across the Asia-Pacific region, promoting sustainability, and addressing climate change challenges.
