About the Grant
The Water Research Foundation is inviting proposals for the Assessment of Corrosion Control Treatment (CCT) Project, aimed at understanding the effectiveness of pipe rig studies compared to real-world distribution systems. The project will assess how well data from pipe rig studies reflect actual conditions in full-scale systems and identify factors that contribute to discrepancies in results. Applicants may request funding up to $150,000 to conduct this 18-month project, which is expected to deliver a comprehensive final report, guidance materials for utilities, a journal article on findings, and a webinar to share outcomes with water professionals. This initiative is designed to help utilities make informed decisions about corrosion control treatments by providing essential context for interpreting study results and understanding the implications of treatment changes. By bridging the gap between research findings and practical applications, this project aims to enhance water management strategies and contribute to improved water quality.
Who can Apply?
Proposals for the Assessment of Corrosion Control Treatment Project are open to a wide range of applicants, including U.S.-based and non-U.S.-based entities such as educational institutions, research organizations, governmental agencies, consultants, and for-profit entities. WRF encourages participation from water utilities and other organizations involved in WRF research. Participants can engage in various ways, including direct participation, in-kind contributions, or providing in-kind services. Eligible applicants must demonstrate the ability to conduct the proposed research effectively and align with the project’s objectives. The WRF is looking for innovative and practical solutions to improve corrosion control treatment practices and the overall management of water distribution systems, making it imperative that applicants possess relevant expertise and a commitment to advancing water research.
How to Apply?
Interested applicants should submit their proposals detailing the project objectives, methodology, and budget. Ensure all documents are completed as per WRF guidelines.
