About the Grant

The Young India Fellowship (YIF) is Ashoka University’s flagship one-year residential postgraduate diploma programme designed to develop leaders and problem-solvers. Each year, around 100 exceptional individuals from diverse academic and professional backgrounds engage in rigorous, interdisciplinary learning, exploring multiple fields through core and elective coursework, critical inquiry, experiential learning, and mentorship. The curriculum sharpens critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills while fostering self-discovery and social impact. Fellows gain intellectual breadth to complement their depth of experience and join a lifelong global network of changemakers driving innovation across academia, business, policy, arts, and development sectors.

Who can Apply?

Applicants must hold a recognized undergraduate degree or equivalent in any discipline. Final-year students graduating by summer 2026 are eligible. Candidates with prior work experience—whether professional, entrepreneurial, or internship-based—are encouraged to apply. There is no age limit for participation, and applicants from diverse fields are welcome. Selection is based on academic merit, leadership potential, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to personal and social transformation through interdisciplinary education and collaboration.
