Bhumi is a leading Indian nonprofit dedicated to transforming education and nurturing the next generation of changemakers. In 2018, Bhumi launched its School Transformation and Socio-Emotional Learning Programs, designed to foster reflection among teachers and school leaders while improving pedagogical practices. Recognizing the need to address systemic challenges beyond the classroom, Bhumi developed the Bhumi Fellowship to build sustainable solutions in education, empowering leaders to drive long-term, transformative change across schools and communities.

About the Fellowship

The Bhumi Fellowship is a two-year paid, immersive program aimed at developing education leaders capable of creating systemic change in India. Fellows receive hands-on training and practical experience in teaching and school transformation while contributing to innovative education initiatives. The program’s goal is to enhance equitable learning opportunities for all children, improve learning outcomes, and strengthen school systems. Fellows also gain exposure to leadership, mentorship, and skills for scaling impactful solutions to India’s education challenges.

Who can Apply?

The fellowship is open to graduates, final-year students, and early working professionals aged 20 to 30. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to education and social impact. Selected fellows receive a monthly stipend of ₹25,500 and access to in-depth learning, development programs, and seed funding for social startups. Fellowship placements are available in Chennai, Trichy, and Coimbatore. The program seeks candidates with leadership potential who aspire to transform schools and education systems across India.
