The Climate Ambition Accelerator is a dynamic six-month fellowship programme launched by the United Nations Global Compact to support businesses in accelerating their climate action efforts. This programme is specially designed to guide companies in setting and achieving science-based emissions reduction targets aligned with a 1.5°C pathway, ultimately paving the way toward net-zero emissions by 2050. Implemented through Global Compact Country Networks, the accelerator offers companies access to global best practices, peer-to-peer exchanges, expert-led capacity building sessions, and flexible, on-demand training modules. The programme empowers businesses at all stages of their sustainability journey, whether they are just starting or looking to deepen their commitment to climate leadership. Participants will develop a strong understanding of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and how to engage stakeholders—such as investors, corporate leaders, employees, and shareholders—in their climate goals. The programme also positions participants to be part of the Forward Faster initiative by establishing science-based net-zero targets.
