The Zuckerberg Institute for Water Research (ZIWR), part of the Jacob Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research at Ben-Gurion University’s Sde Boker Campus, is a hub for advanced water research. ZIWR scientists investigate a broad spectrum of water-related phenomena using both experimental and theoretical methods, aiming to deepen our understanding and develop innovative solutions for global water challenges. Research at ZIWR spans nanoscience, pore-scale studies, pilot projects, and extensive fieldwork, with an interdisciplinary team of hydrologists, soil scientists, geologists, chemists, microbiologists, and engineers collaborating closely. About the Grant
The Zuckerberg Water Prize is an esteemed international award celebrating significant achievements in water research, management, and policy. Recognizing the impact of research, innovation, and leadership, the Prize encourages nominations for individuals or organizations worldwide who contribute to lasting water solutions. Every two years, the award grants $60,000 to honor outstanding contributions that address crucial water challenges. An Executive Committee of prominent experts in water-related fields evaluates nominees based on impact, academic or policy contributions, public advocacy, and leadership. The Prize seeks to highlight work that advances knowledge, drives change, and promotes effective water solutions, aiming to inspire further contributions to the global water sector.
Who can Apply?
Nominations for the Zuckerberg Water Prize are open to individuals or organizations engaged in impactful water-related research, technological innovation, policy development, or public advocacy. How to Apply?
Candidates must submit a Nomination Cover Form, Nomination Letter, three Recommendation Letters, and a Curriculum Vitae, all in English.
