Youth4Climate (Y4C) is a global initiative led by the Government of Italy and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in collaboration with various knowledge partners and youth constituencies. It aims to identify, support, and scale youth-led climate solutions by providing funding and learning opportunities. With 1.9 billion young people worldwide, Y4C recognizes their critical role in climate action as negotiators, innovators, and entrepreneurs. However, despite their potential, young climate leaders often lack essential technical, financial, and political resources. Y4C seeks to bridge this gap by equipping youth with the necessary tools to implement and scale their projects. Through this initiative, young individuals and organizations working in climate action can receive financial support, mentorship, and networking opportunities at local, regional, and global levels. The program fosters collaborative efforts and ensures youth voices are included in climate policy and action. By offering funding, learning experiences, and global exposure, Y4C strengthens the impact of youth-led initiatives, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to climate resilience and sustainability. Through its Call for Solutions, Y4C encourages young people to take the lead in developing innovative solutions in climate, sustainability, and environmental conservation, empowering them to create long-term change.

The Youth4Climate Funding Program is designed to support youth-led climate solutions that are either ready for implementation or require scaling. The grant focuses on empowering young individuals and youth-led organizations by providing financial support, mentorship, and visibility at different levels. The 2025 Call for Solutions funds projects under six thematic areas: Sustainable Energy, Food and Agriculture, Climate and Health, Digital for Planet, Climate, Peace and Security, and Nature for Climate Action. Successful applicants will receive up to USD 30,000 in seed funding to implement their projects over a maximum of 24 months. In addition to financial assistance, selected participants gain access to capacity development programs, mentorship sessions, networking opportunities, and project feedback to enhance their initiatives. The grant promotes sustainable practices, digital innovations, and peace-positive climate adaptation measures while ensuring marginalized communities’ health and well-being are considered in climate solutions. The initiative aims to transform young people’s climate aspirations into tangible actions by equipping them with the right resources and platforms. With the rising challenges of climate change, this funding program provides a significant opportunity for youth-led organizations to contribute to global climate action effectively.
