About Organisation
The White Feather Foundation was established in 2007 by Julian Lennon—an internationally recognized musician, author, photographer, and philanthropist. Deeply inspired by his personal values and global outlook, Julian created the foundation to address pressing environmental and humanitarian challenges facing communities across the world. At its core, the organization believes in the power of collective action and seeks to make a measurable impact on lives through collaboration and advocacy.
The foundation supports Indigenous, humanitarian, environmental, and clean water initiatives globally. It is committed to raising awareness and channeling funds to meaningful projects that work for the betterment of all life on Earth. By amplifying the voices of its partners and embracing sustainability, conservation, and inclusion, The White Feather Foundation continues to uphold its mission to protect the planet and uplift the underserved.
United by compassion and driven by purpose, the organization encourages global citizens to unite in addressing the challenges we cannot overcome alone. The belief that a shared commitment can lead to powerful outcomes guides every project it supports. Through ongoing efforts, the foundation strives to conserve life in all forms and ensure that our natural world and its communities thrive for generations to come.
About the Grant
The White Feather Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2025 Environmental Grant, offering a unique opportunity to secure funding for projects that address urgent planetary concerns. The grant reflects the organization’s deep commitment to environmental sustainability, climate action, and community-based ecological initiatives.
This year’s focus emphasizes the critical importance of environmental stewardship in the face of an escalating climate crisis. The grant aims to support initiatives that bring tangible, positive change to ecosystems and communities by promoting regenerative agricultural practices, conserving biodiversity, protecting forests, and restoring ocean health.
Priority areas include: regenerative agriculture, deforestation prevention, forest restoration, Indigenous land stewardship, ocean health, plastic pollution reduction, environmental education for children, sustainable fashion, and biodiversity preservation. The foundation believes that through targeted action in these areas, lasting environmental impact can be achieved.
Eligible applicants have the opportunity to receive funding ranging from $5,000 to $15,000, depending on available resources and project scope. This grant is intended to support practical, result-driven initiatives rather than speculative research. The White Feather Foundation encourages applicants who can clearly demonstrate the potential outcomes of their projects and align with its mission to conserve life and foster global environmental responsibility.
Who can Apply?
The White Feather Foundation invites applications from organizations across the globe for its 2025 Environmental Grant. The opportunity is open to registered entities with a proven commitment to environmental sustainability and a clear project proposal aligned with the foundation’s core values.
To qualify, applicants must be a registered charity, educational institution, or business entity. Individuals are not eligible for funding under this program. The foundation specifically supports projects with defined goals and measurable outcomes, and as such, academic research proposals without guaranteed results will not be considered.
Projects must fall within one or more of the following focus areas: regenerative agriculture, deforestation prevention, forest restoration, Indigenous land stewardship, ocean health, plastic pollution elimination, children’s environmental education, sustainable fashion, or biodiversity conservation. The initiative must demonstrate both practical feasibility and the capacity to generate meaningful environmental impact.
Eligibility is not limited by geographic region—applications are welcomed from all countries. However, the foundation emphasizes the importance of accountability, transparency, and long-term impact. Organizations should have the necessary infrastructure and team to execute the proposed project effectively.
The grant is designed to support actionable projects that contribute to ecological well-being and environmental resilience in a way that complements The White Feather Foundation’s mission.
