L’Oréal Fund for Women Grant

Application Deadline:
30 April 2025
About Organisation
Established in 2020, the L’Oréal Fund for Women is an endowment initiative launched by the L’Oréal Group to support grassroots organizations that work towards empowering vulnerable women and girls. Its core mission is to combat gender-based violence, promote gender equality, and uplift women and girls facing challenging life circumstances. The Fund aims to support initiatives that assist women who are victims of domestic or sexual violence, living in precarious economic situations, experiencing displacement, or living with disabilities. The Fund is rooted in the belief that resilient women and girls are critical to building stronger communities, and it invests in programs that focus on education, vocational training, social inclusion, and protection of women’s rights. By collaborating with on-ground organizations that are deeply embedded in local communities, the L’Oréal Fund for Women plays a crucial role in ensuring support reaches those who need it most. Its efforts are centered on creating sustainable impact, enhancing long-term empowerment, and ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all women and girls. Renewed until July 2026, the Fund has a global outlook, with a special priority for organizations headquartered within the European Union.
About the Grant
The L’Oréal Fund for Women offers financial support to projects and organizations dedicated to uplifting women and girls facing multiple vulnerabilities, including but not limited to poverty, violence, disability, displacement, and geographical isolation. The grant seeks to bolster initiatives that enhance access to education, provide vocational training, facilitate social and professional integration, and offer emergency relief. Organizations applying must align with the Fund’s broader mission of building resilience among highly marginalized women and girls.
Applicants can seek funding either for structural support—if the organization works exclusively with women and girls facing such hardships—or for specific projects. The support can target any stage of the project lifecycle, from ideation to deployment. For the 2025 call, the grant is available for a 12-month period only, and the financial request must fall between €5,000 and €300,000. Additionally, requested support cannot exceed 30% of the organization or project’s total budget.
This grant is open globally, although preference is given to applicants headquartered in the European Union. Organizations must also show evidence of other secured or pending funding sources to be considered. The Fund aims to ensure long-term, meaningful impact through strategic and well-supported partnerships.
Who can Apply?
Eligible applicants must be nonprofit or grassroots organizations working in the public interest with a demonstrated ability to manage philanthropic funds. They must possess official statutes and operate under a model where no income is distributed to members. The organization should have a track record of supporting a minimum of 200 direct beneficiaries annually.
Organizations applying must either have at least two years of formal existence or present a robust and innovative project addressing a clear, unmet need. To qualify, organizations must also be authorized to issue tax receipts within France or the European Union.
Applicants may apply for structural support if they work directly and exclusively with women and girls experiencing one or more vulnerabilities, such as poverty, single parenthood, violence, disability, refugee status, or geographical isolation. If the organization serves a broader demographic, it can only apply for support related to a specific project focusing on women and girls in such conditions.
Furthermore, the grant cannot exceed 30% of the organization’s annual budget (in the case of structural support) or 30% of the project’s budget. The organization must provide proof of existing or future funding commitments from other sources to demonstrate financial sustainability and co-funding support.
How to Apply?
Organizations interested in applying for the L’Oréal Fund for Women must prepare a detailed application aligning with the Fund’s mission and criteria. The application process includes outlining the project or structural support needs, expected impact, budget, and proof of additional funding sources. Applications must be submitted online during the open call period between April 2 and April 30, 2025. Only one application per organization is accepted.
