Call for Grant Applications – The Van Tienhoven Foundation 2025
Application Deadline:
January 31, 2025
About Organisation
The Van Tienhoven Foundation is dedicated to safeguarding threatened species and vital ecosystems worldwide by providing small grants. The foundation is driven by a mission to promote biodiversity and enhance the well-being of living organisms and their environments. It recognizes the pivotal role of human beings in mitigating biodiversity loss and environmental degradation. By financing direct actions in species, ecosystem, and community-managed nature protection, the foundation aims to instigate policy changes and foster collaborations with governmental, non-governmental organizations, communities, and stakeholders dedicated to conservation.
About the Grant
The Van Tienhoven Foundation offers grants of up to €10,000 to support conservation projects through an annual call for proposals. For the 2025 funding round, only projects from countries listed on the DAC list in Asia and Latin America are eligible. The foundation prioritizes projects focusing on threatened species and ecosystems, countering human-induced threats, and fostering local stakeholder engagement for sustainability. It seeks initiatives that can create significant conservation impacts and lead to direct changes in policy and practice. Eligible projects must be practical, hands-on, and exemplary in raising awareness for broader issues.
Who can Apply?
Eligible applicants include not-for-profit organizations and NGOs registered as legal entities, with a bank account under their organization’s name. Organizations must demonstrate a proven track record in species and ecosystem protection or community-managed nature protection. Only one application per organization is accepted for each call for proposals, and those with previous grants must have submitted final reports. Projects must be implemented in developing countries from the most recent DAC list, and budgets should reflect local rates. Projects should not be part of academic studies and must have not started at the time of submission, with a maximum duration of two years.
How to Apply?
To apply, grantseekers must submit a project proposal through the online application form during the specified timeframe. Applications must be completed in English and adhere to the eligibility criteria.
