About the Grant

The Call for Proposals seeks implementing partners to mobilize and empower marginalized women and girls in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. The project targets higher education institutions to strengthen employability skills and facilitate economic opportunities for 5,000 participants. This initiative includes training programs, mentorship, employment linkages, and a targeted fellowship for 45 selected women to build their professional and leadership skills. Activities range from career counseling and job fairs to industry engagement and policy advocacy, all tailored to create sustainable change in participants’ lives. The project also incorporates robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks to measure progress and outcomes.

Who can Apply?

Eligible applicants include registered civil society organizations, non-governmental organizations, and academic institutions operating in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. Applicants must demonstrate at least seven years of experience in skills development and placement projects, with five years focusing on gender equality and women’s empowerment. Expertise in developing training modules, advocacy with government bodies, and collaboration with private sector companies is essential. Organizations should have experience working with higher education institutions and must understand local contexts, including language proficiency in Marathi and Hindi. Entities on the UN Security Council Sanctions list or under investigation for misconduct are not eligible to apply.

Interested organizations must submit a detailed proposal, including a rationale for any sub-partners, to the designated UN Women address. Proposals should align with the scope of work and must follow the outlined guidelines.
