UK-India Industry-Academia TNE Grants 2025
About Organisation
The Going Global Partnerships initiative is a flagship program under the British Council that aims to strengthen international collaboration in education, research, and innovation. Focused on building equitable partnerships, the initiative supports institutions in the UK and globally to work together in tackling shared challenges, promoting mutual learning, and contributing to sustainable development. By fostering academic excellence and international engagement, it enables a stronger global education ecosystem where knowledge and innovation flow freely across borders. Going Global Partnerships particularly emphasizes enhancing ties between academia and industry, ensuring that higher education systems are inclusive, future-ready, and responsive to economic and societal needs. The program’s support for transnational education (TNE) and research collaborations encourages institutions to build meaningful alliances that generate long-term impact. Through various funding schemes and partnership models, the British Council under this initiative enables institutions to co-create, co-develop, and co-deliver impactful education programs and industry-linked research.
About the Grant
The Industry-Academia TNE Grants under the Going Global Partnerships initiative aim to facilitate robust trilateral collaborations among UK and Indian higher or further education institutions and industry partners. This grant program supports projects that strengthen the linkage between academia and industry, fostering workforce development, research, and innovation. Each selected project will receive up to £20,000 in funding, with a duration of 12 months starting from 30 September 2025. The projects are expected to promote educational excellence, enhance industry relevance in academic curricula, and support global development outcomes through impactful research. The initiative seeks to create a more inclusive and industry-aligned higher education system, fostering a skilled and future-ready workforce. By encouraging three-way collaboration, the grant enhances knowledge exchange and capacity building across institutions and industries in the UK and India. It offers a unique platform for institutions to engage in transnational education initiatives and applied research that resonates with real-world industry needs.
