About the Grant

The Space118 Fine Arts Grant Initiative is designed to assist artists across India in realizing their ongoing or new artistic projects. This grant provides financial assistance along with valuable mentorship from esteemed artists, curators, and art historians. Selected grantees will receive two online mentorship sessions, an online jury review session, and the opportunity to present their work through an InstaLive Open Studio Day on Space118’s social media platforms. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between artists and the art community, offering them a platform to enhance their skills and gain exposure. The program includes interactive sessions where artists can present their work, receive critical feedback, and engage with a global audience. Space118’s mission is to empower emerging visual artists by providing them with resources, professional guidance, and networking opportunities. This grant ensures that artists have the financial backing and institutional support to focus on their creative endeavors and push their artistic boundaries.

Who can Apply?

The Space118 Fine Arts Grant is open exclusively to Indian resident nationals, ensuring that emerging talent within the country receives the necessary support. Applicants must be practicing artists with a minimum of two years of professional experience in the field. Only artists born after April 10, 1985, are eligible, making this grant available to individuals under the age of 40. Space118 welcomes applications from both independent artists and those represented by galleries. There is no application fee, and all submitted artworks must be original and created within the past five years. The grant funds must strictly be utilized for direct production costs related to the artistic project. The initiative seeks to encourage artists from diverse backgrounds, offering them an opportunity to expand their reach and refine their artistic vision. Artists who have previously been a part of Space118 programs are also eligible to apply, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to long-term artistic engagement and development.

How to Apply?

Applicants must submit a proposal outlining their artistic practice, project details, and budget plan for production. The application should also include a portfolio of previous works along with a statement of intent.
