About Organisation
The Indo-French Emerging Project Partnerships Programme is jointly supported by India’s Department of Science and Technology and France’s Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. It is implemented through the Centre for Franco-Indian Promotion of Advanced Research, which facilitates scientific and technological cooperation between India and France. The programme aims to strengthen bilateral research ties by encouraging new collaborations, promoting researcher mobility, and fostering long-term scientific partnerships. By supporting structured academic exchanges, it contributes to building sustainable international research networks and addressing shared global challenges through science and innovation.
About the Grant
The Indo-French Emerging Project Partnerships Programme 2026 supports new bilateral research collaborations across all STEM disciplines. The grant focuses exclusively on international mobility, funding travel and subsistence for scientists, PhD students, and early-career researchers from both countries. Projects are designed to seed long-term cooperation through in-person knowledge exchange. Priority areas include decarbonized hydrogen, artificial intelligence, health sciences, and marine sciences. The programme supports projects lasting between one and three years and emphasizes the inclusion of young researchers to strengthen future Indo-French scientific cooperation.
Who can Apply?
Applications must be submitted by a balanced Indo-French academic consortium. Each proposal must include at least one Indian and one French Principal Investigator from recognized academic or research institutions. Teams must consist of a minimum of two scientists on each side, including at least one PhD student, post-doctoral researcher, or young scientist. Startups and industrial partners may participate as collaborators. All STEM fields are eligible, including transdisciplinary projects involving social sciences applied to STEM themes. Proposals must represent new or emerging collaborations rather than long-standing partnerships.
How to Apply?
Applicants must identify a new Indo-French research partner and jointly develop a proposal outlining scientific objectives and mobility plans. All team members must register on the designated application portal. Required documents include the research proposal, joint submission agreement, institutional certificates, and CVs in English. The complete joint application must be submitted before the deadline for consideration.
Application Deadline
Applications for the Indo-French Emerging Project Partnerships Programme must be submitted by 28 February 2026. Late or incomplete proposals will not be accepted.
