Call for
Resilient & Inclusive Cities Hub Small Scale Grants for Innovative Solutions

Application Deadline:
1 June 2025
About Organisation
The Global Disability Fund (GDF), formerly known as the United Nations Partnership on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNPRPD), is a distinctive initiative established in 2011 by a subset of members of the IASG-CRPD. GDF brings together UN entities, governments, Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), and civil society groups to promote the rights of persons with disabilities globally. The organization fosters cooperation among its members and complements their ongoing efforts on disability inclusion through coordinated UN Joint Programming. The GDF operates through a Multi-Partner Trust Fund (MPTF), a mechanism designed to channel resources efficiently to participating UN organizations (PUNOs). By focusing on disability-inclusive development, the GDF aims to strengthen policies, practices, and partnerships that uphold the principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). It continues to support innovative and scalable solutions that improve accessibility, inclusion, and equality for persons with disabilities across various sectors and geographic contexts.
About the Grant
The Global Disability Fund’s Resilient and Inclusive Cities Hub has launched a call for small-scale innovative solutions aimed at promoting inclusive and sustainable urban development. This grant is designed for organizations that focus on creating resilient cities that meet the needs of persons with disabilities. Selected proposals will receive up to USD 200,000 and will be implemented over a one-year period. The call emphasizes holistic approaches that go beyond technology to address systemic urban challenges. Projects must concentrate on one of the following: developing new regulatory and policy models, creating creative funding mechanisms, introducing innovative service delivery approaches, or offering cost-effective solutions to climate and urban issues. These projects should present practical, scalable, and inclusive models that contribute to building cities that are safer, more accessible, and resilient. A total of five programs will be selected through this competitive call, each with a well-defined urban scope and a clear rationale for geographic selection.
