The Global Environment Facility (GEF) is a multilateral financial mechanism that supports developing countries in addressing global environmental challenges. Through its GEF Small Grants Programme (SGP), the GEF provides financial and technical assistance to civil society organizations and community-based groups implementing local initiatives with global environmental benefits. The programme strengthens grassroots action in biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, sustainable land use, and pollution reduction. In Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, SGP OP8 focuses on ecosystem management, sustainable agriculture and fisheries, waste solutions, and urban sustainability.
About the Grant
The GEF Small Grants Programme is seeking a National Coordinator to lead the implementation of Operational Phase 8 (OP8) in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The selected candidate will manage a grants portfolio of approximately US$750,000, with individual grants capped at US$75,000. The Coordinator will oversee grant allocation, ensure alignment with the Country Programme Strategy, and support civil society organizations delivering environmental impact. Responsibilities include outreach, fundraising, capacity building, monitoring and evaluation, and convening the National Steering Committee. The role operates under technical coordination with CEPF and collaboration with national and regional stakeholders.
Who can Apply?
Qualified professionals with strong project management backgrounds and knowledge of environmental issues in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines are encouraged to apply. Candidates should demonstrate experience in grant management, monitoring and evaluation, and capacity building for NGOs or community-based organizations. Experience working in environmental or social development sectors is essential. Applicants must be capable of full-time engagement and able to coordinate with government entities, civil society, and regional partners.
